Creative Proteomics is an industry leader in targeted metabolomics analysis. We have high-level laboratory facilities and a professional team, which can provide customers with a high-quality and rapid targeted profiling service of metabolites.
Targeted metabolomics is to detect the absolute content of targeted metabolites in the sample, which has the characteristics of strong specificity, high detection sensitivity, and accurate quantification. On the one hand, targeting the metabolome can provide strong support for the in-depth research, development, and utilization of subsequent metabolic molecular markers. On the other hand, the accurate quantitative analysis of certain metabolites can also be combined with other experimental data to reveal the relevant molecular biological mechanism of action.
Service Content of Targeted Profiling of Metabolites
For this service, Creative Proteomics typically employs selective ion monitoring (SIM) on a GC/MS system or targeted MS/MS with multiple reaction ion monitoring (MRM) on a triple quadrupole LC/MS system. SIM has higher sensitivity because the acquisition time of selected ions is extended. MRM is the method of choice for mass spectrometry quantification, which is more sensitive and specific than SIM. Unique fragment ions can be generated to monitor and quantify target compounds in very complex matrices. In mass spectrometry detection, we can continuously screen and exclude non-target ion interference, making the quantification more accurate and reproducible.
Mass Spectrometry Facilities and Projects
- Time of Flight Mass Spectrometer (TOF)
- Agilent 6475 Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer
- Thermo Scientific™ TSQ Fortis Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer
- Thermo Scientific™ Orbitrap Elite Combined Ion Trap Orbitrap Mass Spectrometer
Requirements for Samples
- Microbial and cellular samples require rapid blunting of metabolic activity (quenching) while keeping cells from lysing.
- Animal body fluids (e.g., urine, blood, tissues, organs, saliva) should be rapidly pretreated after sampling, e.g., by adding anticoagulants, and preservatives, and immediately stored at -80℃.
- Plant samples are frozen (liquid nitrogen) rapidly after collection and then transferred to -80℃ for storage.
- Serum samples should not be less than 200 µL and avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
- Urine samples 1 mL, sent frozen at -80℃.
- Please provide the specific concentration, volume, preparation time, and source of each sample. And inform the sample information as well as the control and experimental samples (if there is a group, describe the group information in detail.)
