Targeted Lipidomics Analysis

Creative Proteomics, an industry leader in histology analysis, is able to provide targeted lipidomics analysis service to researchers interested in lipidomics.

Lipids are one of the important nutrients and essential components of cells and tissues. They play extremely important biochemical functions in the process of life, such as cytoskeleton and energy storage materials. Lipidomics is a comprehensive and large-scale study of lipids in biological systems and the molecules that interact with them, so as to understand the structure and function of lipids and explore the regulation of lipids on physiological and pathological states of the body. The diversity of lipids leads to challenges related to lipidomics. However, with the innovation of mass spectrometry technology, the research of lipidomics has become more and more popular.

Service Content of Targeted Lipidomics Analysis

Creative Proteomics overcomes the two challenges of difficult characterization of lipids and excessive lipid detection data and uses targeted lipidomics to reveal the relationship between lipid metabolism and the physiological and pathological processes of cells, organs, and even the body. Compared with untargeted lipidomics, targeted lipidomics focus on several classes of lipids relevant to research. We first need to process the sample for crude lipid extraction using the precursor and product ion data. High-throughput analysis of lipid structure identification using our mass spectrometry platform. Our service covers common lipids in mammalian plasma, tissues, and cells, enabling the targeted detection of thousands of lipids simultaneously.

Our detection range includes but is not limited to the following lipids.

Steroids: cholesterol esters

Glycerides: diglycerides, triglycerides, monoglycerides

Sphingolipids: monosaccharide cerebroside, disaccharide cerebroside, sphingomyelin, ceramide

Glycerophospholipids: phosphatidic acid, phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylserine, phosphatidylethanolamine, etc.

  • Physiological and pathological mechanism research
  • Biomarker screening for disease diagnosis, typing, and prognosis assessment, etc.

Advantages of Targeted Lipidomics Analysis

  • Wide coverage. Multiple lipid molecules can be detected at once.
  • High sensitivity. Using high sensitivity mass spectrometer, the lower detection line is as low as the pg level.
  • High accuracy. Adopt nearly 60 isotopes internal standard methods for absolute quantification to ensure more accurate results.
  • Dual column separation. Good chromatographic separation, reducing the crosstalk of different lipid molecules.
  • High reproducibility. Excellent chromatographic and quantitative reproducibility.
  • Comprehensive data. Provides rich report content and comprehensive analysis and graphing.
