Small Molecules Analysis

Creative Proteomics provides a mass spectrometry-based small molecule analysis service for researchers working in the fields of biology and pharmacology. This service provides qualitative and quantitative measurements of small molecules, revealing the complex structure of small molecules in their entirety and effectively advancing your research.

In chemistry, small molecules usually refer to biologically functional molecules with molecular weights less than 1000 Da (especially small molecules less than 400 Da). In biological, small molecules are biologically active small peptides, oligopeptides, oligosaccharides, oligonucleotides, etc. Given that most drugs are small-molecule drugs, small-molecule metabolites also play an important role, and the analysis of small molecules has received more and more attention. However, the content of small-molecule compounds in the sample is low, and other substances will cause greater interference to small molecules. The small molecule analysis service based on mass spectrometry technology can use isotope labeling to obtain accurate and reliable data, which can effectively solve the problem of insufficient sensitivity caused by complex biological matrices.

Service Content of Small Molecules Analysis

In the pharmaceutical industry, we use liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) technology to provide customers with quantitative information on small molecule drugs to support PK/PD studies as well as toxicokinetic and bioequivalence data. In organic small molecule analysis, we utilize matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) to detect small molecules with molecular weight < 500 Da, such as 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid (DHB), 9-Aminoacridine (9-AA), naphthylethylenediamine hydrochloride (NEDC), 1-naphthylhydrazine hydrochloride (NHHC), etc. We are also able to use high-resolution (HR) MS to determine the structure of small molecules.

Our main services are shown below.
